Miss Lily Canfield
Miss Canfield began at Fourth Baptist Christian School in January this past school year as a classroom aide after completing her Elementary Education degree in December. She worked alongside Mrs. Jeanine Cheek in the 4th grade classroom last year. We are blessed to have her!
Miss Lily Canfield’s testimony:
From the time that I was born, my life was unlike any other’s, which revealed to my parents that the Lord had something planned for their walk and mine. When I was young, I had to undergo multiple surgeries in New York City involving a disease called Hemangioma. At the time, the doctors in MN were unsure how to handle it. This disease had affected my arm, neck and lip. It was something that was purely in God’s hands and strengthened my parents’ faith. They raised me to see God’s faithfulness in everything.
My faith has always been something that has been integrated into every chapter of my life. Growing up, I looked to my parents, grandparents and siblings as examples of Christ-followers. I remember my Papa always taking the chance to remind us that as followers of Jesus, we need to die to ourselves and surrender to Him. His favorite verse was Galatians 2:20 which states, “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.” My Mimi was someone that embodied the character of Jesus better than anyone I know, and she is who inspired me to become a teacher.
When I was twelve and accepted Jesus as my Savior, I was baptized in a lake up in Hackensack, MN.
I believe that Jesus has truly been working in my life from the time that I was born. Whether that was when I was having surgery, going through public school, my dad going through cancer or getting my job at Fourth. Something that I have learned in the last couple years is that God’s timing is truly perfect and it is our choice how much we want to play a part in God’s plan for us.
I believe the Lord led me to Fourth Baptist through Mrs. Farish, and I was blessed to be in Mrs. Cheek’s fourth grade class last year where I was honored to be a classroom aide. I feel grateful to be able to be at this school, and receiving the opportunity to be the fifth grade teacher is an answer to prayer. Thank you, Lord! ◼ ~ Miss Lily Canfield
